Closson Chase Vineyards
2020 Churchside Chardonnay
VQA Prince Edward County
Flint, anise, roasted pecans, and hazelnuts followed by peach cobbler on the nose. Round yet delicate on the palate. Great balance of barrel, minerality, and ripe fruit. Long and evolving finish with notes of saline and stone.
Sourced entirely from our Churchside estate vineyard. Whole cluster pressed then 100% barrel fermented in 20% new oak, 80% seasoned. 100% malolactic fermentation in barrel.
Awarded GOLD at the All Canadian Wine Championships and 95 POINTS from David Lawrason of WineAlign
"This is a lovely, showy, opulent yet seamless and effortless chardonnay from Keith Tyers. It sports a very complex weave of ripe peach, leesy, butter, vanillin and smoke on the nose, with direct relay onto the palate. It is set into almost lush, creamy texture yet centred on great County acidity. The length is excellent to outstanding."
